Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Plans change, and we understand. Here’s how rescheduling and cancellations work, so you know what to expect before your appointment.
At a glance
Free changes up to 24 hours before
Reschedule or cancel at no charge using the link in your 24-hour reminder, or call 617-203-8755.
Less than 24 hours’ notice
Changes or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $100 fee.
If the visit can’t be completed
If we arrive and the notarization can’t be completed for reasons outside our control, you are subject to a fee of up to the full quoted amount.
If we need to reschedule
There’s no charge to you, and we’ll find a new time that works.
When a visit can’t be completed
We plan every appointment carefully, and our confirmation form asks about ID, witnesses and your documents ahead of time to avoid surprises. A visit may not be completed if a signer doesn’t have a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID; a signer isn’t available, isn’t able to sign, or declines to proceed; the documents aren’t ready or are already signed; or required witnesses aren’t present. In these cases, a fee of up to the full quoted amount may apply.
Government, embassy and shipping fees
Fees paid to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, other states, the U.S. Department of State, embassies and shipping carriers can’t be refunded once your documents have been submitted or shipped.
Our discretion
Every situation is different. Boston Mobile Notary & Apostille Service may reduce or waive any fee at its discretion, for example when a patient’s condition changes before a hospital visit.
Payment
For mobile appointments, payment is due the day of your appointment, and we’ll send your invoice that day. For mail-in requests, payment is due when your documents arrive.
How you agree to this policy
When you confirm your appointment, you’ll be asked to review this policy and agree to it with your signature. Questions? Call 617-203-8755 or email info@boston-mobile-notary.com.
