Fast, consistent I-9s for remote and distributed hires

Form I-9 rules require employers to complete Section 2 within three business days of an employee's first day of work. When your new hires are spread across Massachusetts, getting each one in front of someone who can examine their documents in person is a scheduling problem. We solve it. Send us the employee's details, and we'll reach out, schedule within one business day and meet them where it's convenient, then confirm back to your team as soon as Section 2 is done.

What we need from you

  • The employee's name, contact details and start date
  • Your instructions for completing Section 2
  • How you'd like confirmation and documents returned
  • A billing contact for your account

For HireRight orders, we work from the order details we receive.

What an authorized representative does

Federal rules let an employer designate someone to complete Section 2 of Form I-9 on its behalf. As your authorized representative, we meet the employee in person, examine the original, unexpired documents they choose to present, and complete Section 2 the way you instruct, then confirm back to your team. The employer remains responsible for the Form I-9, so we follow your instructions closely and keep our process consistent for every employee.

Remote verification and when in-person still matters

Employers enrolled in E-Verify may be able to use the Department of Homeland Security's alternative procedure for remote document examination. Many employers still choose or need in-person examination, for example when they aren't enrolled in E-Verify, when their policy calls for it, or when their screening provider uses an in-person workflow. That's where we come in.
