In-person notarization vs. remote online notarization
With remote online notarization, the signer and the notary meet over a secure, approved video platform, the signer’s identity is checked electronically, and the session is recorded. In-person notarization, which we offer today, happens face to face wherever you are.

Will a remotely notarized document be accepted?
Acceptance depends on who receives your document. Many U.S. offices accept remote online notarizations, but some foreign governments, banks and agencies still ask for a traditional, in-person notarization, especially for documents going abroad. Before you choose, ask the person or office receiving your document what they accept. If your document needs an apostille, it’s handled by the state where the notary is commissioned.
