We’re unable to assist with an expired ID. Massachusetts law requires a notary to confirm the signer’s identity with satisfactory evidence, usually a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID with a signature (M.G.L. c. 222, § 1). If the signer can get a current ID, we’d be glad to help.

Hospital staff usually can’t act as witnesses. If your document needs witnesses, please plan to have them there, or let us know and we’ll talk through options.
