Hindi, English and regional languages

Many Indian official documents are bilingual in English and Hindi or a regional language, and the English portion may already be sufficient. When documents contain Hindi or another Indian language, the full text must be translated. Name transliteration from Devanagari should match the person's passport. We also translate Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Urdu and other Indian languages on request.

Documents for use in India

India is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. We regularly prepare powers of attorney, affidavits, one and the same person affidavits and self-attested document sets for Indian banks, registries, passport offices and companies, then apostille them. See Apostille for India, Self-Attested Documents and One and the Same Person Affidavit.

Translation, notarization and apostille, handled by one team

Many clients need more than a translation. Documents going abroad often need an apostille first, and some offices require the translation itself to be notarized and apostilled. We handle every step in one order, in the right sequence, so nothing has to be redone. See Translate Before or After the Apostille? and Certified vs. Notarized vs. Sworn Translation.

Serving India's Boston community

Professionals, students and families from India are a large part of Greater Boston's life sciences, technology and academic communities. Who we translate for

We translate for individuals and families, attorneys and law firms, universities and international offices, hospitals and health care providers, employers and human resources teams, and life sciences and technology companies. Every translation is completed by a professional translator, reviewed for completeness and delivered with a signed certificate of accuracy. Recurring clients can set up a business account.

Common mistakes we help you avoid

  • Leaving out stamps or annotations. Every mark on the document is translated.
  • Self-translation. Many offices will not accept translations made by the applicant.
  • Inconsistent name spellings. Names should match your passport and other documents.
  • Translating before the apostille. The apostille usually needs to be translated too.
