How a Logan Airport notarization works
Where we meet you
Your terminal, before security
Terminals A, B, C and E. We agree on an exact spot by phone, since a notary can’t go past TSA screening.
Hilton Boston Logan Airport
Connected to the terminals by an enclosed walkway. A quiet lobby corner or the business center works well.
Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor
101 Harborside Drive, on the airport grounds by the water, with a free shuttle to the terminals.
Embassy Suites Boston at Logan Airport
207 Porter Street, East Boston, a short shuttle ride from the terminals.
What travelers sign before a flight
- Powers of attorney, so someone can act for you while you’re away
- Travel consent letters when a child travels without both parents
- Real estate and closing documents for a sale or purchase back home
- Affidavits and sworn statements with a deadline
- Business contracts and corporate documents
- Documents headed abroad that will also need an apostille
Flying out of Logan soon?
Tell us your terminal and departure time, and we will arrange a meeting point.
Documents going abroad
Most documents used in another country need an apostille as well as a notarization, and some countries require embassy legalization. If you are leaving right away, we notarize at the airport, obtain the apostille, usually within one to two business days, and ship the finished document to you with tracking. If you have a day or two in Boston, we can deliver it to your hotel instead. See our hotel notary and apostille page.
Before we meet
- Bring a current, unexpired photo ID with a signature for every signer
- Leave the document unsigned until the notary is with you
- Email us documents that need printing, and we will bring copies
- Tell us your terminal, airline or hotel and your departure time
- Allow plenty of time before security, especially for international flights
Frequently asked questions
Can a notary meet me at Logan Airport?
Yes. We meet travelers at Logan’s terminals, before security, and at the hotels next to the airport, by appointment, including early mornings and late evenings.
Can you meet me past security?
No. A notary can’t go through TSA screening without a boarding pass, so we meet in a public area before security, at an airport hotel or at a hotel in the city before you leave for the airport.
How much time should I allow?
A simple notarization takes only a few minutes once everyone is there. Plan to meet well before you need to go through security, especially for international flights.
I’m flying abroad. Can you apostille the document before I leave?
If your flight is soon, we notarize the document, obtain the apostille from the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth, usually within one to two business days, and ship it to you abroad with tracking. If you have a few days in Boston, we can deliver it to your hotel.
What ID do I need?
A current, unexpired government-issued photo ID with a signature for every signer. A passport is the simplest choice for international travelers.
Do you come to the airport hotels?
Yes, including the Hilton Boston Logan Airport, the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor and the Embassy Suites Boston at Logan Airport.
