Your onboarding email from HireRight or your employer walks you through Section 1. Finish it by your first day of work.

We examine your documents in person and complete Section 2 on HireRight's platform, as your employer instructs. Your employer is notified upon completion.
What to bring
- One List A document, such as a U.S. passport, U.S. passport card or Permanent Resident Card.
- Or one List B document, such as a state driver's license or ID card, plus one List C document, such as an unrestricted Social Security card or a certified U.S. birth certificate.
- Originals only. Photocopies and photos on your phone can't be accepted.
- Unexpired documents, with limited exceptions your employer will tell you about.

Are you an authorized agent for HireRight?
Yes. We're an authorized agent for HireRight and complete in-person I-9 verifications for new hires in Massachusetts. Once HR confirms your request, we can usually see you within 1 business day.
My onboarding email says I need an in-person I-9 check. What do I do?
Complete Section 1 first, as your onboarding email instructs. Then book your appointment and tell us where to meet you. Bring your original, unexpired documents.
What documents should I bring?
One document from List A, such as a U.S. passport or Permanent Resident Card, or one from List B, such as a driver's license, plus one from List C, such as an unrestricted Social Security card. See our I-9 documents guide.
Can you meet me at home?
Yes. We meet you at your home, workplace or a convenient public place in Massachusetts. The appointment usually takes about fifteen minutes.
Will you stamp or notarize my I-9?
No. I-9 verification isn't a notarization. We act as your employer's authorized representative, examine your documents and complete Section 2 as your employer instructs. No notary seal is used. See the authorized representative guide.

We complete I-9 verifications for new hires who are physically in Massachusetts. If you're in another state, ask your employer or HireRight for an agent near you.
